Research into film magazine covers

In the prezi above I have deconstructed some horror film magazine covers and have noticed a few common occurrences, such as the masthead always linking with the theme through either red/bold text or some effects such as dripping blood or haziness. Also, I have noticed how much of a difference having an effective subheading is through the 'Psycho' and 'Evil Dead' magazine cover, it adds some an attractive flare to it and explicitly points out the main feature of the magazine whereas, 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre' is slightly bland as the subheading text is small and at the bottom of the page. However, I pointed out that this may have been due to the status of the magazine, 'Creepy Images' may be a well established magazine where they don't need to do much to gain an audience as they may already have loyal subscribers.
