POSTER - Photo Manipulation
In this Animoto video that I have created I have shown the changes of our original poster picture.
On the left was our initial picture. We found this picture effective as it linked with our trailer and magazine cover through the villains face and the Christmas lights. We wanted to add a sense of disturbance and possession by the villain by having its victim dead on the floor beside her. We thought this was effective and unique.
However...
After some feedback from teachers, we were told that 'There is too much focus of the tiles(floor) behind the villain and victim which may be distracting and also that the dead victim beside the villain wasn't scary or 'cringe worthy' enough. So we therefore enlarged the picture making the villain the main focus which we found worked better.
Here we have the final re-sized image.
We then noticed that the image was too pale and not bold enough for a horror poster. This then led to us changing the level on the image to add some contrast.
By added these levels, our poster image became 10 times stronger, the mouth piece horror make up was intensified, the darkness to made more prominent and it was just 10x more creepy.
Here is our final edited poster image
